The perennially underrated Woody Harrelson is the latest addition to the
already impressive cast of director Scott Cooper’s crime drama Out of the Furnace.
Billy Bob Thornton had previously been linked the villain role but it
looks like Harrelson came out on top for a chance to face off against
Bale He will take on the role of Curtis DeGroat, the man who drew
Affleck’s character into the criminal underworld. This should be some
awesome display of intense acting with Harrelson recently giving a
spectacular performance in the cop drama Rampart.
The project immediately attracted top directors such as Rupert Sanders and Ridley Scott as well as actors such as Mark Wahlberg. The project almost came together with Bale and Sanders last year, but Bale dropped out because of scheduling reasons.
